High Productivity Formulations R&D

The Flanders Materials Centre (Flamac) required R&D technology to meet its objective of becoming a leading competence centre in the field of high throughput formulations research. This request presented several challenges:

• Formulations projects have very application-specific requirements.

> a custom-designed rather than standard solution was sought.

• The range of possible applications is broad and likely to change often.

> facile adaption and extension of the workflows was a       prerequisite.

 

• High viscosity fluids are often handled in formulations research but this requirement is often poorly met by dispensing technologies currently available.

> a new methodology and technology for viscous fluids dosing would be required.
